Sunday Morning Worship
What does it look like when grace shows up in the middle of our worst moment? In John 8:1-11, we encounter one of the most powerful scenes in all of Scripture, a woman caught in sin, dragged before a crowd with stones in hand, and placed at the feet of Jesus. The story does not flinch from the reality of sin or its consequences, but it ultimately becomes a stunning portrait of what grace looks like in action. We explore the weight of what sin actually costs, not to heap shame on anyone, but because grace only makes sense when we understand what it is rescuing us from. Romans 6:23 reminds us that the wages of sin is death, and yet the gift of God is eternal life through Christ. The thirst for grace is only as deep as our understanding of how badly sin has left us dry. When Jesus stoops down in the dirt rather than reaching for a stone, we see the incarnation itself on display. He does not keep His distance from our mess. He enters it. And that changes everything about how we understand our own stories.
