Sunday Morning Worship

What does it actually mean to be set free by the truth? Most of us have heard the phrase, and it shows up everywhere from bumper stickers to blockbuster films. But the message in John 8 challenges us to look at the full picture, not just the memorable conclusion. True freedom, as Jesus describes it, is not simply knowing a set of facts or holding the right opinions. It is the result of a life genuinely committed to following Him, continuing in His word, and allowing that word to shape every corner of our existence. This message invites us to ask a hard but necessary question: are we starting with Jesus, or are we staying with Him? There is a profound difference between the two, and that difference reveals the depth of our discipleship. We are reminded that endurance is the real test of commitment, and that a life anchored in God's word is the only life that can withstand the shifting tides of culture, opinion, and circumstance. If we find ourselves holding on to religious heritage, church tradition, or family legacy as a substitute for genuine surrender to Christ, this message calls us back to the only foundation that holds.
