Finding True Satisfaction in Christ

What does it mean to truly know God, and how do we know if we actually do? In this message drawn from John 7:25-39, we are invited to examine our faith at a deeper level than theology, church attendance, or religious habit. Set against the backdrop of the Feast of Tabernacles, one of the most joyful and elaborate festivals in all of Jewish life, the message unpacks a moment when Jesus stands in the middle of a crowd celebrating God's faithfulness in the wilderness and makes a staggering claim about who He is. The religious leaders of the day knew enormous amounts about God, yet Jesus looked them in the eye and told them they did not actually know Him. That challenge lands just as squarely on us today. Three tests emerge from the text to help us honestly assess where we stand: Do we genuinely believe in Jesus? Do we walk in obedience to His commands? And are we marked by love for the people around us? These are not hoops to jump through for salvation, but they are the natural fruit of a life truly connected to the living God. If any of those three things is absent, the message calls us not to shame but to honest reflection and renewed pursuit of the One who already knows us completely.
