Christ at the Center - 2

This powerful exploration of Colossians 1:15-23 invites us into one of the most profound declarations about Christ in all of Scripture. We discover that Jesus is not merely a good teacher or wise prophet, but the very image of the invisible God—the One through whom all creation came into being and by whom all things are held together. This passage challenges us to examine what we truly believe about Christ, because our understanding of who He is fundamentally shapes how we live. The message reminds us that every world religion acknowledges Jesus as important, but Christianity alone proclaims Him as divine. When we grasp that Christ holds the universe in perfect balance—from Earth's position relative to the sun to the tilt of our planet—we realize He also holds our lives together in the same way. Nothing we face catches Him by surprise; He is before all things. This truth becomes deeply personal when we understand that we were once enemies of God, alienated by our sin, but through Christ's physical death and resurrection, we have been reconciled and presented holy before God. The question becomes: Is Christ merely prominent in our lives, or is He truly preeminent—supreme over every decision, relationship, and area of our existence?
