MEET OUR INTERIM pastor
Dr. MATT BUCKLES

Karen and Matt Buckles

Karen and I are grateful to our Lord for the opportunity in ministry to serve at FBC Laurel during this interim time.  Please keep us in your prayers daily, to be used mightily, effectively and lovingly; all to HIS honor and glory.

We believe the pastor and people relationship is a holy, helpful and honorable one. Karen and I will seek to make that a reality as we serve Him and you during this special time in the life and ministry of FBCL.

Looking forward to seeing you Sunday. Bring your Bible, family, friends, tithe/offering, and expectation to be blessed.

All glory to Him and grace to you,
Interim Pastor Matt

What Can I Do For My Church During An Interim Time?

I have been asked often over the years, “What should my church and I be doing during an interim time?” Allow me to suggest these actions. Think about and put them into action.
1. Attend the worship services, meetings and minis-tries, as FBCL needs you now as much as ever, Jude 20-21.
2. Defend His church and fellow brothers and sisters in Christ in the same spirit of 1 Peter 3:13-17
(note v. 15).
3. Contend for the Gospel and all His ways of truth in love; this is not a time to compromise His righteousness and our obedience, Ephesians 6:10-20.
4. Mend broken relationships; give to and receive forgiveness from others, Matthew 6:14-15.
5. Intend to do your best as His followers; do now what He has for us, Romans 12:1-2.
6. Bend to the will and ways of the Holy Spirit; Zechariah 4:6 and Ephesians 5:18.
7. Spend time in prayer with the Lord for direction, insight and help; especially the Pastor Search Committee and your several interim key leaders, Thessalonians 5:17.
8. Fend off the temptations of Satan to hurt, leave or hide by claiming the Word of God, just as Jesus did, Matthew 4:1-11.
9. Extend an invitation to others to worship with us and a hand to the hurting; this being a great time to reach out to others, Romans 13:8-10, 14:16-19.
10. Send praise, thanks, honor and glory daily to Him in heaven who has saved, sanctifies, secures and satisfies us in this life and the next, Jude 24-25.
In closing, remember that because of Him, “It is going to be okay!”
Love, Bro. Matt and Karen
