FBC Youth Ministry exists
to CELEBRATE God,
REACH others with
the gospel of Jesus
Christ, EQUIP
students to apply their
gifts in service to God
and the church, to
ENCOURAGE one
another in Christian
love, and to
DEMONSTRATE Jesus’
love by helping others.
How to Keep it going
after camp. Here are
some thoughts:
-
Time
replacement
- Our usual evening
consists of T.V.,
Internet, ball
fields, or just
being out and
about. At camp that
time is replaced
with worship.
Think about how many
hours you spent
singing, praying and
listening to Bible
teachers. Your time
with God was
multiplied. To keep
it going, take a
couple of nights and
worship at home.
Sing along with
Christian CD’s,
read scripture, go
through a personal
or family Bible
study, or get a tape
of a good sermon and
listen to it. Time
alone with God
seeking Him with all
of your heart =
Closeness to God.
-
Don’t
miss Church
- We are all busy
and our schedules
are full, so many
opportunities will
come up for your
attention.
Sometimes you have
to say “No” to good
things in order to
say “Yes” to the
best things. Church
is where we gather
to worship God
corporately. Also
it may be the only
time that day that
you can truly slow
down and spend time
with God.
-
Personal time with
God and your
attitude
- The first two
suggestions should
not replace your
daily personal time
with God. If you
are not spending
time in prayer,
Bible reading and
scripture
memorization, you
will not be where
God wants you to be
Spiritually.

A
word to Parents/Adults
Successful Student
Ministry relies on
parents and adults
willing to invest in the
events and activities.
There are many
opportunities to serve
in our student ministry.
We always need teachers,
chaperons, hostesses,
resource people,
financiers, and
Christian examples. Our
student ministry will
only be as strong as the
adult participation. We
really need to work
toward the goal of every
member being a minister.
Our students need you.
Permission/Medical/Discipline
Form
Every student should
have a form on file.
These forms allow young
people to be treated by
proper medical personnel
in case of an emergency.
In all cases, parents
will be notified as soon
as possible. These forms
must be notarized and
are required for any
activity away from
church. This form also
has a discipline
covenant included in the
permission section. Because
we are responsible for
your student during our
activities, it is
imperative that they
follow instructions and
obey chaperons at all
times.
Scholarships
Please, never let money
be the reason your
student cannot
participate in our
ministry. Some money is
available to help with
the expenses of ministry
events and activities.
We also give a discount
to families with more
than one student wanting
to participate. Please
do not hesitate to ask
about available
scholarships for our
events and activities.
When paying for a church
event, please make your
check to First
Baptist Church. If you
are paying with cash,
please put the money in
a sealed envelope and
write the event and
amount on the outside.
